The Windy City Blenders were a force to be reckoned with from 2004 to 2009. We travelled far and wide, working with troupes and other performers, both internationally and in the US, to create dynamic gender performance and interpersonal connection. Although the group is no longer performing as a troupe, our individual members have gone on to pursue their dreams and we encourage you to check them out!
Mission: The Windy City Blenders is a collection of gender-bending neo-burlesque and drag king performers who travel and work with performance communities abroad. Determined to build bridges internationally, this group of performers donate their time, energy, and resources to bring Chicago-style queer performance across borders and into different and unique scenes. The exchange of ideas and perspectives, with the process of working together, helps develop relations and builds the foundation for a broader sense of global community.
